In studies on culture, social researchers acknowledge two different views: emic and etic. However, these two contrasting views have not been a concern of corporate or organizational culture researchers. This paper aims to shed light on this issue by reviewing different narrative analyses from various corporate culture studies. The author proposes a solution which enables researchers to ensure the inclusion of both emic and etic views on corporate culture in their research which is by using a model which adopts a continuum consisting of corporate culture and corporate cultural policy.
2020-08-12T11:12:19SE Asia Daylight Time ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://journal.i3l.ac.id/index.php/AJBE/article/view/39 Prediction and Analysis of Ecotourism Visitors at Jendela Alam 2020-08-12T11:12:59SE Asia Daylight Time Benny Tjandrasa benny.tjandrasa@gmail.com Lina Anantan lina.anatan@yahoo.com Novan Ardianto kangnovan@gmail.com
Tourism industry sector needs to receive more considerable attention due to its important role as source of economic growth in Indonesia. These businesses have become the primary engines of economic growth of the country. Despite for its being a dominant form of business organization, many micro enterprises face obstacles that hinder their growth and development. This article provides an analysis and a depiction on factors that can limit micro enterprises business development and offers insight for the entrepreneurs to find strategies to tackle the problems. The research focused on four hindering factors, they were lack of entrepreneurial mindset, lack of access to finance, lack of business management experience, and lack of government support. The analysis was based on a field survey of 150 micro enterprises in Jakarta. Various statistical analyzes were used in this study, namely multiple linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. The findings show that lack of business management experience was the factor hindering the growth of micro enterprises in Jakarta. This was due to the fact that most of these entrepreneurs have low education, knowledge and skills in business management such as accounting, financial planning, and marketing skills. Therefore, the study suggests the entrepreneurs to be equipped with appropriate training to enhance their business management skills. It is also important for the government to support the micro enterprises through effective training programs and policies that are beneficial to their growth. This research might not be applicable to micro enterprises in other regions in Indonesia and might prove differently in other populations. Therefore, the study is in need of further rigorous research and development with larger samples.
2020-08-12T10:55:34SE Asia Daylight Time ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://journal.i3l.ac.id/index.php/AJBE/article/view/45 Strategy in Entering the Healthy Catering Industry: Case Study on Alfa Catering 2020-08-12T11:13:08SE Asia Daylight Time Nadira Maharani nadira.maharani@i3l.ac.id
The growth in catering industry as well as more awareness of healthy lifestyle resulted in establishment of healthy food catering businesses. Other than that, relationship and relevancy on how the preferable attributes to the potential customer’s value was also identified in this study. Laddering interview and means-end chain theory were used as methodologies for this study to generate insights into reasoning behind potential customer’s choices. There were 20 interviews conducted for this study and successfully generated 33 A-C-V ladders, which were further processed and visualized into a hierarchical value map (HVM). From the HVM, the results were showing four apparent attributes from the solar PV system, which are: (1) converting sunlight into electricity, (2) highly durable, (3) supported by the government policy, and (4) easy monitoring.
